Summer isn’t over yet!
Today we are sharing a few of our favorite and simple summer nice cream recipes. Whenever we are craving something sweet and just need a quick fix, nice cream is our go-to! It is so refreshing and so delicious that you won’t miss the unhealthy kind!
Helpful tip: Always peel, slice, and freeze a few bananas so you have them on hand to make a quick nice cream
For all of the nice cream recipes below, start with the same base:
•1 1/2 frozen bananas
•Pinch of sea salt
•Splash of vanilla
Then add the following to create your favorite flavor combos!
Basic Banana/Vanilla Ice Cream
Add 1-2 slices of frozen peach. Yes, peach! The peach helps to give it a little different creamier flavor. Then up your splash of vanilla to 1 tsp. or 1 fresh vanilla bean
Berry Nutty Ice Cream
Add 1/3 cup strawberries or raspberries, 1/2 tbsp. peanut or almond butter, and splash of maple syrup
Mocha Chip Ice Cream
Add 2 tsp. each of cocoa powder and instant espresso powder (you can opt to add brewed coffee if you do not have espresso powder), and 1/2 tbsp. maple syrup. After blending, mix in a handful of cacao nibs or dark chocolate chips.
Any why not throw in a bonus…
Add 1/4 cup of finely crushed pistachios (it helps to blend them first) and 1/2 tbsp. of maple syrup. Top with additional pistachios.
For all nice creams, blend in a food processor until smooth. If adding any mix-ins like cacao nibs or pistachios, mix those in after blending. You can serve immediately, or seal and freeze and serve later (this will give you a harder ice cream consistency as opposed to a soft serve consistency).
Now that you have your delicious nice cream, you can choose to add some additional toppings like unsweetened shredded coconut, cacao nibs, dried or fresh berries, chopped dates, nuts, and of course, a cherry!
