Chilly weather, holiday music, gingerbread and eggnog… it’s definitely the holiday season!
With Christmas right around the corner, and Hanukkah beginning tonight, we are certainly indulging in some extra treats. It is normal to have more holiday parties this time of year and be surrounded by drinks and cookies, but remember, you can still enjoy all of these things AND keep it healthy. In fact, that is exactly why we created your Holiday Cookie & Treat Guide! This guide gives you recipes for your holiday favorites, like gingerbread, truffles and pie, but makes them cleaner and healthier for you!
With that in mind, we wanted to bring you a new smoothie recipe, but with a holiday twist! We hope you enjoy!
-1 cup almond milk
-1 frozen and sliced banana
-1 pitted date
-1 tsp. vanilla extract
-1/4 tsp. nutmeg*
-1/8 tsp. cinnamon*
Optional: 1 scoop of plant-based protein powder
Optional: Freshly grated nutmeg for topping
Place all ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth. This smoothie is not very thick, so add a handful of ice if you would like it to be thicker.
*If you would like more spice, add it a pinch at a time
